People begin individual therapy for a range of reasons. Maybe you are experiencing the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, a life transition, or a crisis in your personal life. Perhaps you are dealing with anxiety, depression or a period of heavy stress.
Individual psychotherapy is a wonderful way to approach these issues that so many people face. Finding the right therapist is your first step; you need a safe space that promotes trust so that you can open yourself to new perspectives and insights, and to personal growth.
In your initial session, I will explore your reasons for seeking therapy. I will ask questions to learn more about you, your experiences and the changes you would like to work toward. After the first meeting, a collaborative determination will be made as to whether we are a good patient-therapist fit. If we are, your next visit will be scheduled. Ongoing sessions usually are scheduled once a week for 45 minutes, but when needed, more frequent sessions can be arranged.
