Couples begin therapy for various reasons. Perhaps partners feel they are not communicating effectively, or anger and resentment have surfaced. Maybe they don’t feel emotionally connected, or physical intimacy has waned.
As a therapist for couples, I provide a comfortable place for partners to explore these issues while learning to listen to and empathize with one another. I help couples open lines of communication to foster an atmosphere where empathy becomes the natural response, and I assist them in working through feelings of resentment in the relationship.
Techniques practiced in sessions will introduce tools you can use in everyday interactions with your partner. They will help you understand and honor your own as well as your partner’s needs in the relationship. Generally, couples meet with me for 60 minutes on a weekly basis.
